The west side of the playground at XI'AN JINGKAI No.1 School faces residential buildings. Previously, traditional broadcasting equipment was installed around the entire playground, and during student sports activities, the broadcast sound would often spill over into the surrounding neighborhoods, causing significant noise disturbance to nearby residents. According to the school representative, whenever the school held sports events, they had to communicate and negotiate with nearby residents in advance, yet the severe issues of broadcast echo and feedback still negatively impacted the overall event experience. To solve the problem of playground noise disturbing residents, the school introduced Audfly's directional audio speaker system.
Solution Deployment
Audfly provided a scientifically sound design plan based on professional sound field design and innovative acoustic technology tailored to the playground conditions at XI'AN JINGKAI No.1 School. The solution involved strategically installing 11 directional audio speakers across the playground. These speakers are set to focus sound directly towards the playground area, with sound quickly attenuating on the sides and rear, ensuring no interference with the surrounding teaching environment. This setup effectively eliminates traditional broadcasting issues like echo and asynchronous sound, achieving a balanced sound field while enhancing speech clarity and intelligibility.
Results
Feedback from the school indicated that after deploying the directional audio speaker system, the results were evident during the spring sports event. Even with music playing throughout the day, there were no longer any complaints from neighboring residents. The overall sound environment on campus was significantly improved, earning praise from the community. Teachers can now confidently use the system for announcements or maintaining order on the playground, achieving clear and efficient broadcasting while also providing hearing protection, noise reduction, and technological and intelligent enhancements.
