However, if your priority is rich sound quality, particularly in lower frequencies, you might want to consider alternative audio solutions.

While they excel in delivering precise and clear audio in targeted areas, it’s important to note that the sound quality, especially in the low-frequency range, differs from that of traditional Hi-Fi speakers or headphones.

     

    If you’re looking for a solution that prioritizes accuracy in sound direction, our speakers are an excellent choice, though they may not be suited for deep, bass-heavy audio reproduction.

  • QHow far does the sound beam from audfly directional speakers reach?

    The reach of Audfly’s directional speakers depends on various factors, such as ambient noise and objects in the environment. In very quiet settings, the sound can be audible at distances up to about 100 meters, though for optimal performance and precise directionality, we recommend positioning listeners between 1 and 5 meters from the speaker. Additionally, it's important to note that sound propagation occurs at a certain angle, and as the sound travels farther, the area it covers increases.
     
    While the exact distance of sound travel is influenced by environmental conditions, think of it like a flashlight—its beam can reach far, but clarity diminishes with distance. For best results, positioning the speaker closer to the target area ensures a clearer and more focused sound experience.

For instance, the Model B1 covers an area of about 1-2 square meter at a typical mounting distance of 2-3 meters. This focused sound delivery allows for precise and targeted audio, making it ideal for applications where concentrated and clear sound is needed.

  • QWhat happens when the sound beam hits an object?

    When the sound beam from Audfly’s directional speakers encounters an object, it behaves like any sound wave—being absorbed, reflected, or scattered. On flat surfaces such as walls or floors, the beam maintains its directivity, reflecting similarly to a laser beam off a mirror, which helps maintain good acoustic isolation.
     
    This characteristic allows the sound to be perceived as originating from the point of reflection, effectively creating the effect of virtual sound sources. This feature is particularly useful for applications requiring virtual audio experiences.
     

  • QIs there any sound leakage outside the beam of Audfly directional speakers?

    While there is some minimal sound leakage outside the beam, it is extremely quiet, with sound levels dropping significantly just outside the focused area. Think of it like a flashlight beam: in a dark room, the light is concentrated, but you might still see a faint glow outside the beam. Similarly, in a very quiet space, you might hear a faint sound outside the beam, but this is usually not noticeable in typical environments with ambient noise.
     
    Sound leakage is generally well-contained in larger spaces. In smaller rooms with many reflective surfaces, sound absorption materials like carpets and curtains can help reduce any spillover.

  • QAre Audfly directional speakers suitable for filling large areas with sound?

    Audfly directional speakers are designed to deliver sound to specific, narrow areas, similar to how spotlights work. They are most effective for targeted sound delivery rather than covering large spaces. For larger areas, you would need to use multiple speakers to achieve the desired coverage, much like using multiple track lights.
     
    While our speakers can be used to expand the sound area, they are not typically suited for filling very large spaces, such as a dance floor, with sound. For such applications, a more practical approach might be needed to achieve uniform sound coverage within a budget.

  • QCan Audfly create custom-sized directional speakers?

The size of the speaker impacts its output volume, frequency response, and coverage area—larger speakers provide greater volume and a wider frequency range, while smaller speakers offer more limited output and coverage. 
     
    Please note that custom orders do require a minimum quantity. Additionally, we offer the Alpha 160 directional sound module, which is a standard module specifically designed for integration with kiosks, digital signage, self-service machines, and similar devices.     Audfly directional speakers come with either built-in or external amplification, so you only need an audio source to start using them. 
     
    The power supply supports a worldwide input range (100-240Vac, 50/60Hz), and we provide the appropriate power adapter for your region.

  • QWhat is the lead time for Audfly directional speakers?
